I was thinking earlier on my way to work, how a lot of drivers are not disciplined, how roads here are so bad, etc etc. But then it also hit me, that no matter what happens, we will all still love the Philippines. Is that something unique to Filipinos? That no matter how much we badmouth the Philippines and keep wishing we could go abroad (well, for a lot of people anyway), we still tend to love the Philippines, warts and all.
We can make fun of everything here, and yet in the end, we still feel very strongly and fondly about everything here in the Philippines. It’s like nothing can compare. I see this in a section of our company website where Filipinos abroad get to write in about the Philippines, and they miss the things here terribly. It might not make them go back, for practical reasons, but I guess you just can’t take the Filipino out of them. And out of all of us.

Ugh Blogger is so wonky. It’s so hard to post, edit, delete and create posts this morning.

Just when I was thinking of finding some hobby I can do, like maybe something craftsy (although I am *so* not craftsy at all) or sporty (again, think *not* sporty) or enriching (hmm maybe cooking, but what about my waistline?!) or fun (travelling, but where to get the time and money), I came across this website that seems to echo this idea. It’s true, we shouldn’t waste our time.
My 50 things to do in my lifetime
Everyone has at one point thought of things they want to do in their lifetime. Unfortunately, too few of us actually make the effort to make some of these life desires happen. As the subscriber who submitted the site states, “My50 is a lifestyle/motivational site that encourages people to record everything they wish to do in their lifetime, and to start achieving them instead of letting life pass them by.” From simple daily chores to exciting escapades to career changes, now you make your list and ‘add descriptions, pictures and deadlines for each goal you set for yourself.’ To post your list on the site, registration is required, but there is a very strict privacy policy. Should you opt not to register, you can still read the site suggestions as well as get ideas from list that others have posted and then design your own with pen and pad. You now you have no excuse not ‘break from the monotony of everyday life and start living life to the full.’ For you enthusiasts, remember, your list does not have to stop at 50 items!
If there is one thing that you wish you could do all over again, what would it be?

So why are the yummy things so bad for you? I am simply craving for something incredibly sweet and creamy, or something meaty and deepfried with loads of batter..yummyumm. Heh. I was eating my low fat granola cereals for breakfast this morning, and I swear, I felt a burning sensation whenever I tried to eat it. It actually tastes good, mind you, but it just may be something psychological.
I won’t give in to the cravings (mental note to self: DON’T). But oh my goodness, what I would give for these things (and more!) to be non-fattening, without losing all that yummy goodness:
pancakes
cakes
cream puff
donuts
meatballs
hotdog sandwiches
burgers
lumpiang shanghai
kikiam
squid balls
shakes
ice cream
chocolates
mayonnaise
etc etc etc
But the thing is, I don’t deprive myself. I am actually advised to eat 5 small meals a day to not be hungry, so I’m really not hungry. But there’s just something different about eating these uber-sarap food, you know?

I’ve been super busy these last few weeks at work, since work on revamping our layout has resumed. But it’s busy in a good way, since it’s a more creative endeavor, and something that I enjoy doing more. My mind gets mentally stimulated, because I have to think of solutions and ways to make things happen, and that’s part of the fun for me!
Things have been going good in all fronts, and I’m just always grateful that God has been so good to me! Oh, and looks like I’ll really be keeping up a fitness routine, unless I want to flush a sizeable amount of moolah down the drain. Me, the PE-hating girl, got a personal trainer.
It was just an accident, really, how it happened. I’ve never liked the personal trainers I see around my gym, so I’ve opted for just going to classes, doing some cardio and some machines once in a while. But around a week ago, this trainer approached me while I was doing the tricep rope pull and showed me the proper form. And promptly sales talked me into getting the PT package.
It was the right timing, and perhaps the right approach to me. He seemed approachable, genuine, and quite nice. So I decided then and there that yes, I’m going to get a PT. Moi, Ms. Kuripot, will spend for that! And you know what, it’s been worth every cent so far. He’s motivated me, trained me, and I’ve been quite comfortable to boot! I guess part of his manner comes from having already been a manager at a previous gym, as well as being the owner of his own gym now in Cavite (that his wife manages so he’s free to work in Fitness First), that he’s really trained to do what he does.
It’s only been a week, but I’m just so encouraged to train and be more fit. I still have a LONG way to go, and I sure hope I can make it, but I’m determined to do it. I’m so excited!

I know I don’t write here too much anymore, but I just had to send out a birthday shoutout to one of the nicest bloggers and persons I’ve met. Happy birthday, Junnie!
He’s the guy who lends me his awesome pictures when I need them most, and doesn’t mind that I’ll be using it for a website. He’s the guy I knew I could call if I needed help, and been willing to do so.
I know we’ve only met a couple of times (literally!), but I always had fun, and I know you’ll be bringing fun, good cheer, and your good nature wherever you go.
I just want to wish for many more blessed birthdays, and blessed years ahead of you. You deserve it. Happy birthday! =)

I just wanted to extend my thanks to those who prayed for my sister. She was discharged yesterday, and is now recovering at home
